Roadmap

From idea to movement. The execution plan.

The Sequence

Everything follows one rule: prove, then proclaim. Each phase builds credibility for the next. No phase is skipped. No announcement without substance behind it.

Phase 0 — The Flag

Goal: Plant the flag. One page. One message. See who responds.

Deploy your99.co — single page, manifesto text, email capture. Design: white background, Lora typeface, generous spacing, no images, no navigation, no logo beyond the wordmark. The restraint is the brand.

Success metric: 500 email signups in 2 weeks. If we get 500 people who read the manifesto and leave their email, the idea resonates. If we don’t, we haven’t found the right words yet — iterate the message, not the idea.

Phase 1 — The Platform

Goal: Build the infrastructure where Your 99 products live.

The evolution of Builder & Co. — a platform where builders register products under the Your 99 Agreement, users discover and join them, stake is tracked, and profits are distributed.

Core features for launch:

  • Builder registration and Your 99 Agreement acceptance
  • Product listing with Contribution Map publication
  • User accounts with stake tracking dashboard
  • Living Stake calculation engine (accrual + decay)
  • Basic governance system (proposals, discussion, voting)
  • Transparent financial reporting per product
  • Monthly distribution calculation and reporting
  • Your 99 Credit system (internal ledger for distributions)
  • Central financial orchestration via established payment infrastructure

Success metric: 20 builders register products with published Contribution Maps. Real products. Real builders. Real agreements.

Phase 2 — The First Products

Goal: Three proof-of-concept products operating under the Your 99 Agreement.

Product 1: The Your 99 Platform itself — the meta-proof: the infrastructure of Your 99 is itself user-owned. Revenue: builder subscriptions, platform fees (kept minimal).

Product 2: A niche tool (1,000-10,000 users) — the first external proof that the model works at small scale. This product’s first monthly distribution — even if it’s $3 per user — is the most important moment in Your 99’s history. It proves the math is real.

Product 3: An ambitious consumer product — something that directly competes with a product people use daily. A note-taking app. A messaging tool. Something where the Your 99 version can be compared directly to the corporate version.

Product quality tiers:

  • Listed — any product that adopts the Agreement (no barrier to entry)
  • Active — product has real users, transparent financials, regular updates
  • Verified — product has completed at least one distribution, operating 6+ months, passed a basic audit

Success metrics: All three products live and operating. At least one product completes its first monthly profit distribution. Media coverage of the first distribution — even if the amounts are tiny, the story is “users got paid to use a product they own.”

Phase 3 — The Proof

Goal: Demonstrate that user-owned products outperform corporate ones.

  • 50+ products operating under the Your 99 Agreement
  • First Product Family formed organically
  • Universal Pool operational — first ecosystem-wide distribution
  • First “switch” story: a community migrated from a corporate product to a Your 99 alternative
  • Published transparent financials showing the full flow: revenue → costs → distributions
  • Builder success stories: builders earning meaningful income from 1%
  • Ecosystem Governance Council established

Success metrics: 50+ active products. 10,000+ users with Living Stake across the ecosystem. First meaningful Universal Pool distribution.

Phase 4 — The Movement

Goal: Your 99 becomes a recognized alternative economic model.

  • 500+ products in the ecosystem
  • 100,000+ user-owners
  • Product Families covering major categories (health, education, productivity, social, creative)
  • The Your 99 Agreement adopted by products outside the platform
  • Legal framework formalized for multiple jurisdictions
  • Academic and policy attention
  • First mission product funded entirely by the Universal Pool

The scaling mechanism: At this stage, growth becomes self-reinforcing. Every new product brings users. Every user benefits from the ecosystem. Every successful product proves the model. Every proof attracts more builders. The flywheel is economic, not viral.

Success metrics: 500+ products. 100,000+ user-owners. $1M+ in cumulative user distributions.

Phase 5 — The Standard

Goal: Your 99 becomes the default model for new products.

When a builder starts a new product, the natural question becomes: “Is it Your 99?” If not — “Why would I use a product I don’t own when alternatives exist?”

This is the endgame. Not a single platform. Not a single company. A standard. An expectation. A new default for how products relate to the people who use them.

Operating Principles

  1. Prove, then proclaim. Never announce what you haven’t built. Never promise what you can’t demonstrate.
  2. Small and real beats big and theoretical. One product distributing $3/month to 1,000 users is more powerful than a whitepaper describing how billions could be distributed.
  3. The first distribution is the most important moment. When the first user receives real money from a product they own — however small — the idea becomes irreversibly real.
  4. Transparency is non-negotiable. Every number, every cost, every distribution, every governance vote — public, auditable, readable.
  5. No venture capital. No investors. No debt. The Your 99 platform is itself a Your 99 product. It is funded by its own economics.
  6. We don’t buy attention — we earn it. Your 99 does not buy advertising. Our growth comes from the strength of the idea, the quality of the products, and the voices of the people who own them.
